Special Event: The Laguna Wilderness: Images and Impressions

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of Laguna Wilderness Press, I would like to personally invite you to a very special event The Laguna Wilderness: Images and Impressions hosted by Soka University. Opening reception is this Thursday, January 26, 2012 from 5:30 – 8:30pm. This event celebrates the photography and preservation commitment of Ron Chilcote throughout the past 15 years. Join in the opportunity to travel through his photos through the Laguna Wilderness and what we have known as the Laguna Greenbelt. You will be able to view this showcase of images from now through May 11th 2012. We want to extend the personal invitation for this opening reception to give you the opportunity to hear from Ron as he tells the story of an effort to conserve public lands as open space, a history that is depicted and written in his book, Nature’s Laguna Wilderness. Ron’s work goes beyond regional interest, however, it exemplifies how people everywhere who care about their environment and nature can achieve control of precious space and hold it intact for future generations.

This event is not only about celebrating the art and photography of Ron Chilcote, but also to celebrate Laguna Wilderness Press. Founded in 2002 by environmentalists Ron Chilcote and Jerry Burchfield, Laguna Wilderness Press is a non-profit press dedicated to publishing books about the presence, preservation, and importance of wilderness environments.

Nature's Laguna Wilderness is available in a beautiful limited cloth edition, boxed, and including an 11 x 14 photograph of Laguna Canyon, both signed and numbered by Ron ($225). A few copies of a clothbound edition with jacket are available for $60, as well as, a paperbound edition for $29.95.
