An elegant book featuring paintings of hybrid insects by Southern California artist Paul Paiement. The paintings, executed in watercolor and egg tempera, combine fragments of insects with fragments of manmade objects producing images that address human induced changes in nature, as well as psychological/perceptual concerns. The 96 page book includes 60 color plates with additional illustrative photographs and essays by Rebecca Niederlander, Christopher Miles and Tyler Stallings. A limited Special Edition is available along with forthcoming hardcover and softcover editions.
